Blog Introduction

After experiencing major changes in life I figured the best way to celebrate the last month of 2020 is to start my blog… along with a bottle of the best Champagne because we are almost through this trying year, but my anxiety for the next year is on another level. Am I the only one cautiously stepping into 2021 (laughing but crying).

Obviously you don’t know anything about me so let me share some of myself…

My name is Dominique Young and I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. I currently reside in Atlanta, GA and have for the past year and half now. The last eight years I have moved around a lot with my husband….Florida, Indiana, Tennessee. He is a chef, so while moving so much has changed from a perk to exhausting at times, I am rewarded with amazing meals that I don’t have to cook myself. Lucky me right!

I have worked in the hospitality industry most of my life. Got my first hospitality job in hotels and loved it. Literally so much fun! You work and meet some of the best people. Let’s be honest though, while it is fun, it can be exhausting and unpredictable. If anything this year has done is remind me of that fact.  Moving right along…. about 6 years ago I decided to pursue my passion for skin and enrolled at Aveda Institute of Chicago where I earned my esthetics certificate. I then took the state test and gained my esthetic license.

Relocating often, I never really planted my feet in the skincare industry. I went back to hotels, because it was a way to secure fast employment and easy for me. However, I always had a passion for skin and stayed in the know. After moving to Atlanta I decided I was going to just start actively pursuing work within a spa or skin care store to force that move. It can sometimes be a little scary for me, honestly still is, but I gotta start somewhere, right? Started working in a hotel spa at front desk, which I still do part time. Technically I guess I never left hotels.

It’s been an experience, I get to meet different people and suggest products/services based on skin needs/wants. Btw sometimes wants are not always what you need. I recently was able to get a studio suite that I share with my biz partner. It is def a vibe! Didn’t see this opportunity coming, but I am thankful and riding my wave. I do facial skincare services and help my clients on their skin care journey. I also, hand make body polish and oil moisturizer, all organic and natural ingredients. These amazing additions to your body care routine are actually sold here on my online store where you can also, purchase skincare products.

And now we are here… creating a blog

It is something I have wanted to do just did not know where to start or if I should even attempt. So many people are like, “just do the blog, don’t think about it”. Honestly over- thinking about anything will result in no decision being made ever lol. So I am doing this blog to connect, share, and engage. Skin is my sweet spot so that will definitely be the focus. I want to use my perspective and experiences to share things that I have learned, with skin and motivation, because we could all use a little of that.

Check in once a week and love on my posts. Every Wednesday enjoy a little read to get you thru the rest of the week. Whether you’re at home or on your lunch break take a moment to stop by.  This is all for engaging so feel free to comment or ask a question.

My email is niqueyoungskincare@gmail.com and my social is www.instagram.com/niqueyoungskincare Head over and follow me or send me an email if you have a question

Thanks for putting your energy into reading my intro to the blog world. It can only get better from here!  I hope to produce a meaningful and helpful blog for all my readers. Have an amazing rest of the week! BTW… if I can finally make a decision to start this blog you can definitely make the decision to start moving towards that goal of yours.
